Ginani is Hunza's oldest festival: the moment the first barley ripens and the valley gives thanks for the harvest. It falls between late May and June, depending on when the barley ripens in each village, when the terraces glow green and gold and the apricots are almost ready.
Families gather in the fields for the first cut, share bread made from the new grain, and celebrate with drums, pipes and sword dances. It's warm, communal and a genuine window into Hunza's farming heritage.

02 /How we do it
We bring you in with a local family so you're part of the day, not watching from the roadside. Afterwards there's time to slow right down: orchard walks, a lazy lunch and sunset from the Eagle's Nest.

Weather
Warm days around 25–30°C and cool evenings. The sun is strong at altitude.
